yay i've got the ikea catalogue ! well my cousin 'stole' it for me though they are technically free. however this one was a little unexciting.
oh wellI realise it's been awhile since i've posted and so much has happened since then! It's been about 3 weeks since i've moved into Como with my cousin and almost 3 weeks of working at my 'new' job. I now have a total of 4 sets of keys hanging off my keychain. And by set i mean multiple keys in one set, i think that now if i was ever mugged on the street i'd wield my keys instead of a handbag at the attacker's head. Nowadays it feels like i've been doing more in a day than i normally do which is nice and i love my jobs (and not only because i get paid).
I'm working most of the week at a charity organisation called Friends of Autism which is just starting up with their own premise when previously they were running from someone's house. They're a legitimate charity with government funding and basically help out families with children who have autism and mainly use ABA therapy and since just being there i've learned so much from just working with the resources which mostly involves alot of cutting, laminating, velcro-ing and basically callused fingers and i'm now an expert with a guillatine. All this stuff i started learning about at uni briefly but not to this extent. Experience truly is gold.
I work a day a week for a clinical psychologist who i have come to have alot of respect for of late. I want her job one day. Well not replace her but do what she does. But it's going to take more years at uni to do that and i think after these 6 months or so of working i'll be re-energised to get back into uni with a better idea of where i'm heading and what i would like.
This'll prob speak volumes but i'm getting to work early and leaving later than my scheduled times.
Living on my own with my cousin these last 3 weeks has also been quite interesting and has involved a weekly ritual of renting videos from the nearby local video store. And i'm happy to report that we've agreed most times on the movies and have found some really videos in the process too.It worked out that i started my new job the first day after i moved in. I think i'm now used to the fact that I have to factor in extra travel time to all the places that i normally go to and working my timings around peak hour traffic since i'm near the city now. I'm significantly better in the mornings, actually being able to give myself enough time in the mornings for quiet time before i rush off to work and start my day which is great.
Still seeing my family-my mom and brother, quite regularly though it's still my brother i miss the most at times because while mom and i talk fairly often over the phone, my brother isn't one for long conversations over the phone, neither of them are. So i miss just hanging out with him, watching tv or just generally making his life a nightmare and being the pestering oldest sister. And i miss out when shash calls home from singapore cos he doesn't call como where i am at the moment so mom's stuck relaying messages between us. at least there's msn.
things have been nice and busy at church too. We just had Adrenalin the week before at the Challenge Stadium where Switchfoot played (and were awesome live !!) and i took a couple days off work to help out with exo week before Adrenalin at the schools which went well. I've never seen so many sausages dissapear in such a short amount of time... Other than that all is good. As superficial as it sounds my biggest concern right now is getting a nice dress for my graduation ceremony that's in 2 weeks time ! wooo :D
